My poor baby has eczema, a cold, tonsillitis and chicken pox – all at the same time
Reese, my youngest, has been off school since Monday. When I went to pick her up her teacher told me how she hadn’t been herself that day, very quiet.
Later that evening she had a temperature of 39.2 so I went to the chemist and got some own-brand paracetamol and ibuprofen to help reduce her fever and make her feel better.
We kept her off school on Tuesday and you could tell when the paracetamol was in her system as she was her normal bubbly self and enjoyed trashing the lounge with Playmobil everywhere! But when the paracetamol wore off, you could tell as she would become quiet and lethargic once more.
Later that evening she started coming out in a rash all over her legs with some on her arms. These pictures were taken that evening and are a mixture of the spots and her eczema.
Wednesday morning we took her to the doctors to get her checked out. The doctor wondered if it was chickenpox but was confused because it was only on her legs and arms, none on her torso. There was definitely eczema there so he prescribed her some cream as well as antibiotics as she had tonsillitis as well.
Today I noticed she had a spot on her face and a few on her tummy so I took her to the chemist to the minor ailments as they cover chickenpox and the chemist recognised she had chickenpox straight away just from the one on her face. So my poor little baby has a snotty nose, tonsilitis, eczema and chickenpox all at the same time!
Do you have any tips or tricks on how I can reduce her suffering?
What about the best way to encourage her to take her medicine? Especially as she doesn’t like the taste
